No American Casualties, Minimal Damage To Facilities From Iranian Attacks

The United States military says it has suffered no casualties and only minimal damage to its facilities after defending against what it describes as “hundreds of Iranian missile and drone attacks” in the Middle East.

“There have been no reports of US casualties or combat-related injuries. Damage to US installations was minimal and has not impacted operations,” U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said.

CENTCOM released a statement on Saturday (February 28) confirming that Operation Epic Fury had begun under the direction of President Donald Trump. The operation involved joint U.S. and Israeli strikes targeting Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) command and control facilities, Iranian air defense systems, missile and drone launch sites, and military airfields.

CENTCOM says the strikes began at 1:15 a.m. ET. The operation included precision munitions launched from air, land, and sea. Notably, as reported by The Times of Israel, CENTCOM’s Task Force Scorpion Strike employed low-cost one-way attack drones in combat for the first time.

After Iran launched a retaliatory wave of missiles and drones, U.S. and partner forces successfully defended against the attacks. CENTCOM confirmed the scale of the American response, describing it as “the largest regional concentration of American military firepower in a generation.”

CENTCOM commander Adm. Brad Cooper praised the troops involved, saying President Trump “ordered bold action, and our brave Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Guardians, and Coast Guardsmen are answering the call.”

The situation remains fluid. Officials have not yet detailed the full scope of damage caused to Iranian targets, and the broader conflict between the U.S., Israel, and Iran continues to develop.
