New York Judge Orders Release Of Jeffrey Epstein Grand Jury Records

A federal judge in New York has ordered the release of grand jury records related to Jeffrey Epstein‘s 2019 sex trafficking case. This decision, made on Wednesday (December 10), follows a recent law mandating the unsealing of such records. The law, known as the Epstein Files Transparency Act, was passed by Congress and signed by President Donald Trump last month. It requires the Department of Justice to make public its records on Epstein and his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell.

Judge Richard Berman‘s ruling comes just one day after another judge ordered the release of grand jury records from Maxwell’s 2021 sex trafficking case. Last week, a Florida judge also approved the unsealing of transcripts from a previous Epstein grand jury investigation from the 2000s.

The Justice Department requested the unsealing of these documents, citing the new law as a basis for lifting the usual confidentiality of grand jury proceedings. Judge Berman noted that while the records are now set to be released, they may not contain any new revelations.
