The remains of Emily Strite, a mother of four from Missouri who disappeared six months ago, have been found in a remote wooded area, according to authorities. The 33-year-old was first reported missing on April 20. Her skeletal remains were discovered near the 4100 block of Frissell Road in De Soto, approximately 45 miles southwest of St. Louis, Missouri.
According to a statement from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the identification was made through a comparison of medical and dental records. Strite was last seen on foot wearing jeans and a dark blue hoodie on the morning of April 12 in the De Soto area. At the time, detectives believed she had left the area of her own free will.
The cause of Strite’s death remains undetermined, and investigators are working to understand how her body ended up in the location where it was found. The investigation into her disappearance and death is ongoing, and there are currently no reported suspects or persons of interest in the case.
Strite’s family has asked the public to respect their privacy and not to visit the area where her body was found. Anyone with information is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau at 636-797-5515.
