Multiple People Injured in Downtown L.A. Stabbing

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Police continued to investigate Monday a fight at a restaurant that led to the stabbing of multiple people in downtown Los Angeles, prompting authorities to close off the area.

The incident occurred at the restaurant Zaya, at 515 W. Seventh St., according to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Division.

The violence began at 5:15 p.m. Sunday, with a report of a stabbing in the 500 block of West Seventh Street, according to a Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman who said that victims were found in two different locations.

Four people, women between the ages of 26 and 37 were taken to a hospital. All were in fair condition according to the LAFD.

Circumstances leading up to the incident remain unclear, but police told CBS2 a fight started in a restaurant and someone smashed a bottle on another person’s head.

Two people were taken into custody, the station reported.
