LOS ANGELES COUNTY – After more than a year and a half of investigation, Southern California authorities say they’ve taken down a burglary crew responsible for a wave of smash-and-grab crimes targeting businesses across four counties.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Major Crimes Bureau, Metro Detail, said the group broke into liquor stores, tobacco shops, pharmacies, and convenience stores in Los Angeles County, later linking them to similar heists in Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties.
Detectives say the suspects used hooded sweatshirts and masks to hide their identities, cut through security doors with power tools, and fled in high-performance vehicles, including stolen Chevy Camaros. Some burglaries sparked dangerous police pursuits.
Over the course of the investigation, detectives reviewed surveillance video, analyzed forensic evidence, interviewed witnesses, and coordinated with multiple law enforcement agencies. In all, authorities connected the crew to more than 50 victim businesses.
The case culminated on August 28, 2025, when Metro Detail detectives executed search warrants at four homes, three in Long Beach and one in Alhambra. Inside, investigators recovered suspected stolen property, thousands in cash, evidence tying the suspects to the burglaries, and multiple weapons, including two loaded semi-automatic handguns and an assault pistol outfitted with a silencer and extended magazine.
The following suspects were arrested and booked on burglary-related charges:
- Marco Rivera, 22, of Long Beach – Bail set at $1,025,000
- Nakoa Taylor, 20, of Long Beach – Bail set at $1,000,000
- Jaheim Ebry, 21, of Long Beach – Bail set at $1,000,000
- Francisco Araiza-Lopez, 25, of Alhambra (previously arrested) – Bail set at $1,075,000
Additionally, Isaac Araiza-Lopez, 19, of Alhambra, was arrested on narcotics and felony firearm charges.
