Motorcyclist Killed in Crash With SUV in Long Beach

LONG BEACH (CNS) – A man was killed when his speeding motorcycle rear-ended an SUV stopped at a red light in Long Beach this morning, authorities said.

The motorcyclist was speeding eastbound on Broadway when he hit the SUV, which was stopped at the intersection of Broadway and Alamitos Avenue, the Long Beach Police Department reported.

Officers were dispatched to the scene at about 2:15 a.m. and paramedics rushed the biker to a hospital, where he died from his injuries. No one was injured inside the SUV.

“At this time, speed, impaired driving and distracted driving are being investigated as possible factors in this collision,” police said.
