Missing Baby’s Father Seen With Police Searching For Child’s Remains

The father of missing 7-month-old Emmanuel Haro, who is presumed dead, assisted investigators on Sunday in Moreno Valley in the search for the child’s remains. Escorted by deputies, Jake Haro, wearing a prison jumpsuit, helped search and rescue crews near the 60 Freeway and Gilman Springs Road. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department used cadaver dogs during the search, but the remains were not found, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities from San Bernardino and Riverside counties initiated a widespread search on August 14 after Emmanuel’s parents, Jake and Rebecca Haro, reported that their son was kidnapped from a Yucaipa parking lot. Rebecca claimed she was knocked unconscious by a stranger, leaving her with a black eye, and that Emmanuel was taken during this incident. However, inconsistencies in Rebecca’s account and the couple’s lack of cooperation with the investigation raised suspicions. ABC News reported that the couple was arrested on suspicion of murder after investigators could not rule out foul play.

The investigation revealed that Jake Haro has a previous felony conviction for willful child cruelty. Law enforcement has conducted extensive searches in Yucaipa and Cabazon and reviewed surveillance footage as part of their efforts to locate Emmanuel. Despite these efforts, the child remains missing. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department continues to seek information from the public to aid in the search for Emmanuel Haro, as noted by KBTX.
