Man Sought in Burglary Where Dog Was Killed

WEST HOLLYWOOD (CNS) – Investigators Thursday were seeking the public’s help in locating a person of interest who was recorded on security video entering a West Hollywood home without permission and abusing the resident’s dog that was later found dead.

The person of interest was identified as 27-year-old Anmol Bhatia. A wanted bulletin issued by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department also described him as the suspect in the case.

Deputies responded about 11:35 p.m. on Sept. 4 to the 1200 block of Harper Avenue, just north of Santa Monica Boulevard, regarding a burglary call, according to the LASD, which provides law enforcement and public safety services in West Hollywood.

“Deputy personnel contacted the victim, who informed them the residence was burglarized, and his pet dog was deceased,” according to an LASD statement. “The victim reviewed and showed deputies video surveillance from inside the residence.”

The video shows the suspect enter the residence without permission before abusing the small dog until it became unresponsive.

“The dog was found deceased by the victim and the responding deputies,” according to a sheriff’s department statement that said the investigation into the alleged burglary and animal abuse is ongoing.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Bhatia was urged to contact detectives at the sheriff’s West Hollywood Station at 310-855-8850.
