Man Killed After Opening Fire At Border Patrol Facility

A man was reportedly killed after opening fire at a U.S. Border Patrol facility in Texas, authorities confirmed via the Associated Press.

Ryan Louis Mosqueda, 27, was fatally shot after federal agents returned fire in McAllen, according to McAllen Police Chief Victor Rodriguez. Mosqueda reportedly had an assault rifle and was carrying a utility vest at the time of the incident.

The Border Patrol facility where the incident took place is located across the street from McAllen International Airport. Another rifle and more ammunition was found by law enforcement after Mosqueda’s death.

The suspect’s motive has not yet been determined by authorities, according to Rodriguez. One officer was reportedly injured during the incident, however, it’s undetermined whether it was caused by a shrapnel or a bullet.
