Man Fatally Stabbed Near Brentwood Whole Foods

BRENTWOOD (CNS) –  A 39-year-old man was fatally stabbed near a Whole Foods Market in Brentwood, and police were searching for his killer Wednesday.

Officers were called at 9 p.m. Tuesday to the 11700 block of San Vicente Boulevard at South Barrington Avenue regarding a reported stabbing, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. They found the victim suffering from stab wounds, LAPD Officer Kevin Terzes told City News Service.

The victim and the suspect were arguing when the suspect drew a weapon and stabbed the victim several times before running away from the scene. The wounded man was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Terzes said.

The victim may have been unhoused and police were examining his SUV, according to a report from the scene.

The suspect was described as a man in his early 20s who was wearing dark clothing.

“He’s already shown a propensity for violence … but I have no reason to believe he intends to hurt other people,” LAPD Detective Samuel Marullo told reporters at the scene.
