Man Critically Wounded in Pasadena Park Shooting

PASADENA (CNS) – A man was wounded today in a shooting at Villa Parke in Pasadena.  

The shooting occurred about 1:20 a.m. at the park at 363 East Villa St., according to the Pasadena Police Department.  

An officer was at the park conducting a criminal investigation and heard several gunshots from another area, police said. The officer saw a dark-colored vehicle fleeing the area and saw the wounded man down in the park.  

The victim had multiple gunshot wounds and the officer provided medical aid until Pasadena paramedics took him to a hospital in critical condition.  

The investigation that brought the officer to the park appeared unrelated to the shooting, officials said. An investigation was underway to determine the motive for the shooting and identify a suspect or suspects.
