Jessie Mobley Jr., a 34-year-old man, tragically died outside KFFO Afro Steakhouse in Houston, Texas, after collapsing inside the restaurant. According to the Houston Police Department, Mobley fainted at his table after dining at the steakhouse, which is known for its West African cuisine. Instead of calling 911, the restaurant staff assumed Mobley was homeless and moved him outside with his belongings.
Mobley was discovered dead the following morning by a student from a nearby beauty school. The police are awaiting autopsy results to determine the exact cause of death. Mobley’s family, who have suffered the loss of three children in 13 years, expressed their heartbreak and questioned why the restaurant staff did not seek medical help. “Why didn’t you call 911?” asked Mobley’s aunt, Charlene Fogg-Drake, as reported by the Houston Chronicle.
The Houston Fire Department pronounced Mobley dead at the scene. The Houston Police stated there is currently no belief that Mobley was the victim of a crime, but the investigation continues as they await the autopsy results.
