A 22-year-old man in Hawaii has been arrested for allegedly trapping an elderly woman in her car for several days. The Honolulu Police Department received reports of the kidnapping on March 30. The suspect, identified as Fortune Zenn Lee Marchan, was apprehended on Thursday (April 3) and is accused of restraining the woman and coercing her into withdrawing money from a Bank of Hawaii branch.
The details of how the woman was trapped in her car have not been disclosed by the authorities. According to KITV, the 78-year-old victim was able to tell the bank tellers that she was being held against her will. The employees called the police, who launched an investigation and managed to identify Marchan as the suspect.
He was taken into custody and charged with first-degree robbery. His bail was set at $30,000.
