SANTA ANA (CNS) – A 31-year-old man accused of gunning down a man in an unincorporated area near Anaheim in 2019 was behind bars in the Houston area Friday awaiting extradition.
Ricardo Martin Campos is accused of killing 28-year-old Eli Gamaliel Victoriano-Che, according to Orange County sheriff’s Sgt. Todd Hylton. The victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound about 9:30 p.m. May 14, 2019, in a motorhome in the 8400 block of Augusta Drive, Hylton said.
The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Hylton said.
Campos was arrested Wednesday by deputies serving a warrant, officials said. A hearing is expected on Monday in Houston to determine if he will waive or fight extradition.
Campos has a lengthy criminal history. He pleaded guilty to buying or receiving stolen property and car theft in February 2017 and pleaded guilty again in January 2018 to buying or receiving stolen property and resisting arrest. He pleaded guilty in April 2019 to possession of a controlled substance.
