LASD Celebrates 175 Years of Service to the County

EAST LOS ANGELES (CNS) – The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department celebrates its 175 years of service to the county Monday in a ceremony in East Los Angeles that commemorates its legacy.

The private celebration takes place starting at 10 a.m. at the Biscailuz Center Training Academy, according to sheriff’s officials.

Sheriff Robert G. Luna and LASD historians Michael  A. Fratantoni, Historian Joan Renner help look back at the agency’s history and guests can view historic images, artifacts and vintage law enforcement vehicles. Los Angeles County true-crime experts will share their insights into historic cases.

Police chiefs from across Los Angeles County, city and county officials, current personnel and retirees were invited to attend the eight-hour event.
