A lawsuit has been filed by Cesar Moran and two others against Crypto.com Arena following an incident in February where Moran claims he was beaten and knocked unconscious by security guards. The altercation occurred outside a game between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks.
According to TMZ, the brawl erupted outside the arena after the Lakers’ 107-99 victory over the Mavericks, marking the first game against Dallas since the Lakers acquired star player Luka Doncic. Video footage captured the chaotic scene, showing Moran, wearing a LeBron James jersey, being repeatedly punched and eventually knocked out.
The incident was reportedly fueled by heightened emotions among fans due to the recent trade of Luka Doncic from the Mavericks to the Lakers, as noted by the Daily Mail. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that no arrests were made, but a felony battery report was filed.
Moran and his fellow plaintiffs are seeking damages for the injuries sustained during the altercation. The Lakers and Mavericks are scheduled to face off again on Wednesday in Dallas, where tensions may still be high.
