25,000 people are expected to hit the streets for the LA Marathon. Stretching through neighborhoods from Dodger Stadium to Century City, organizers are welcoming runners from around the world.
But not welcome… your parked car. The LAPD says it will tow away any car parked along the 26.2 mile course early Sunday morning.
The annual race runs through numerous communities, including Chinatown, Downtown LA, Echo Park, Silver Lake, Los Feliz, Hollywood, West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Brentwood, ending at the intersection of Santa Monica Blvd. at Avenue of the Stars in Century City. Street closures and parking restrictions go into effect as early as 3AM Sunday, although it may seem earlier… That’s also the same morning we move our clocks ahead one hour for Daylight Saving Time.
