A Los Angeles County probation officer, Michael Solis, was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly smuggling drugs into Barry J. Nidorf Juvenile Hall in Sylmar.
The arrest follows a criminal complaint accusing Solis, 59, of conspiring with two juvenile detainees to distribute Xanax within the facility between May and August of 2023. This incident is linked to a teen’s fatal overdose at the juvenile hall in 2023.
Prosecutors allege that Solis facilitated the drug trade, compromising the safety and rehabilitation efforts of the facility.
