Princess Kate Middleton made a rare public appearance with her husband, Prince William, and son, Prince George, amid her ongoing cancer battle on Sunday (August 25).
The royal family was spotted attending Crathie Kirk church on the Balmoral Estate in Scotland in photos obtained by the Daily Mail. The couple’s two youngest children, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, were not present at the time.
Earlier this month, Prince William and Princess Kate made a rare appearance in a video congratulating Great Britain’s Olympic athletes following the conclusion of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
“From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB,” Middleton said in the clip, which featured several other celebrities, shared on the royal couple’s joint social media accounts.
“Well done on all you’ve achieved. You’ve been an inspiration to us all,” added Prince William, who was sporting a beard.
Middleton announced her cancer diagnosis after undergoing a “planned abdominal surgery” in January and speculation of her whereabouts in the weeks following. The princess’ announcement also came two months after King Charles, 75, announced his diagnosis for an undisclosed form of cancer in February.
Middleton said she was “making good progress” but had “good days and bad days” while sharing an update on her chemotherapy in a letter shared after her initial cancer announcement. The princess attended the Wimbledon tournament in London last month, which is reportedly expected to be her last public outing for the foreseeable future, prominent royal author Robert Jobson told People.
