Jason Kelce Addresses ‘Fake Quotes’ Regarding Bad Bunny Halftime Show

Retired former Philadelphia Eagles center turned ESPN analyst Jason Kelce addressed “fake quotes” wrongly attributed to him regarding Bad Bunny‘s upcoming Super Bowl LX Halftime Show in a lengthy message on his X account Tuesday (October 14).

Kelce, 37, who co-hosts the New Heights podcast with his brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, the fiancé of pop superstar Taylor Swift, referenced fake comments being attributed to him after a quote bashing critics of the halftime selection as “a bad fit for America’s for America’s future” went viral.

“I normally don’t comment on things like this, but I feel I need to address that there are a number of accounts posting fake quotes and attributing them to me on this platform right now. I appreciate @X putting community notes on several and I will not address the other accounts specifically, because I do not want to amplify their engagement. But please know, unless you hear something directly from me via one of my platforms, it is not real,” Kelce wrote.

The selection of Bad Bunny for as the Super Bowl LX Halftime performer has drawn criticism from conservatives due to the Puerto Rican rapper having previously said he didn’t plan to tour the continental United States over fears of the newly implemented ICE deportation restrictions and raids potentially targeting his concerts. President Donald Trump also criticized the selection during an interview with Newsmax‘s Greg Kelly earlier this month.

“I never heard of him. I don’t know who he is, I don’t know why they’re doing it, it’s crazy, and then they blame it on some promoter that they hired to pick up entertainment, I think it’s absolutely ridiculous,” Trump said, having once again mocked the NFL’s rule change on kickoffs.

Bad Bunny had previously made an appearance during the Shakira and Jennifer Lopez halftime show at Super Bowl LIV in 2020. The three-time GRAMMY winner has emerged as one of the most streamed artists both within the Spanish-speaking world and beyond, having crossed over into several other areas of pop culture beyond music, which included competing in multiple WWE wrestling matches, as well as hosting Saturday Night Live and having a supporting role in Happy Gilmore 2, having been featured in multiple scenes with Travis Kelce.
