Jared Leto Denies Misconduct Claims By Four Women

Actor Jared Leto is facing serious allegations of sexual misconduct from four women, as detailed in a new BBC documentary titled “Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret.”

The accusations, which span from 2000 to 2016, involve incidents that allegedly occurred when the women were teenagers, while Leto was in his 30s and 40s. Now 54, Leto has denied all allegations.

The BBC documentary reveals that one woman claims she was sexually assaulted by Leto in a motel bathroom when she was 17. Another accuser states that Leto threatened her with sexual assault when she was 19. A third woman alleges that she had sex with Leto in California when she was 17, which could be considered statutory rape under California law. The fourth woman reports receiving sexually explicit phone calls from Leto when she was 16, during which he suggested they should have sex.

The BBC has corroborated several of the women’s accounts with friends and family, and some evidence includes pictures and messages. However, the documentary does not reveal the women’s full names. Leto did not respond to the BBC’s attempts to seek comment for the documentary. In a statement to Deadline, Leto stated, “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false.”

Leto, who won an Academy Award for his role in “Dallas Buyers Club,” has previously faced allegations of misconduct. Last year, nine women accused him of inappropriate behavior in an article by Air Mail, which he also denied. The BBC documentary includes testimonies from two former crew members of Leto’s band, Thirty Seconds to Mars, who expressed discomfort with Leto’s interactions with teenage girls.

The allegations against Leto have persisted over the years, with more than 120 separate claims made online about his behavior towards women. The BBC documentary features 10 women, nine of whom are sharing their stories publicly for the first time. Despite these allegations, Leto continues his career in entertainment, with Thirty Seconds to Mars scheduled to tour Europe and the UK next spring.
