Investigators Believe Trump Shooter Flew A Drone Over Rally Site

Investigators believe that Thomas Crooks, the 20-year-old who attempted to assassinate Donald Trump, may have conducted aerial surveillance of the rally site using a drone.

A law enforcement official familiar with the investigation told CNN that investigators found a drone while searching Crooks’ car and think that he flew it over the site of the rally earlier in the day. The drone would have allowed him to scope out the rooftops and determine which had the best view of the stage.

The FBI has yet to determine a motive for the assassination attempt. A review of Crooks’ cell phone revealed images of both Trump and President Joe Biden. He also had photos of several members of Congress, including House Speaker Mike Johnson and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. In addition, Crooks searched for the dates of the Democratic National Convention and other Trump events. He also searched for information about a high school shooter in Michigan who killed four classmates in 2021.
