The seismic events, which occurred near Brawley, ranged from magnitudes of 2.5 to 4.7, with the strongest quake hitting just after midnight on Sunday.
According to the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, there have been no reports of major damage or injuries. The city of Brawley has activated its Emergency Operations Center and is monitoring the situation closely.
