Illegal Migrant Accused Of Beheading Motel Worker During Argument

A gruesome murder occurred at a Dallas motel, where a Cuban national, Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, allegedly beheaded motel manager Chandra Nagamallaiah with a machete. The incident took place at the Downtown Suites motel, and Cobos-Martinez reportedly kicked the manager’s head across the parking lot before placing it in the trash.

Cobos-Martinez, who was in the U.S. illegally, had been released from custody earlier this year due to a lack of deportation flights to Cuba. He was under an order of supervision from the Bluebonnet Detention Center. ICE officials stated that the crime could have been prevented if he had not been released.

Witnesses described Cobos-Martinez as appearing detached during the attack. Surveillance footage captured him tossing the machete after the murder. He was later arrested wearing a blood-soaked T-shirt and remains in the Dallas County jail on an ICE detainer and capital murder charge. Cobos-Martinez has a history of criminal activity, including grand theft, false imprisonment, carjacking, and indecency with a child.

The incident has sparked criticism of the current immigration policies, with ICE officials expressing frustration over the inability to deport Cobos-Martinez earlier. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are awaiting results from a blood test to determine if drugs were involved in the incident.
