President Donald Trump revealed that 15-time major champion Tiger Woods told him about his relationship with his former daughter-in-law Vanessa Trump while they were playing golf together recently.
“I played golf with him a couple of times over the last month, and he’s a fantastic guy and a fantastic athlete, and he told me about it,” the president told reporters from the Oval Office on Monday (March 31).
“I said, ‘Tiger, that’s good. That’s good,’” he continued. “I’m very happy for both. Let them both be happy.”
“I love Tiger, and I love Vanessa,” the president adding, claiming he had a “very special, very good relationship” with the golf legend.
The president then claimed that Vanessa’s past marriage with his son, Don Jr., was “hurt very badly by the witch hunt that went on — Russia, Russia, Russia.”
“But Vanessa and Don had a very good relationship. They have incredible children, five incredible children, all good athletes, all great students,” he added. “They broke up quite a while ago, which was to me very sad because I think they’re both great.”
Woods officially announced his relationship with Vanessa Trump in a post shared on his Instagram March 23.
“Love is in the air and life is better with you by my side! We look forward to our journey through life together. At this time we would appreciate privacy to all those close to our hearts,” Woods wrote in a post with two photos of the couple.
Vanessa Trump was married to Don Jr. from 2005 to 2018 and the former couple shares five children including their oldest daughter, Kai, who is committed to the University of Miami (FL) on a golf scholarship. Woods shares two children, daughter Sam, 17, and son Charlie, 16, with his ex-wife, former Swedish model Elin Nordegren.
