Honda is recalling nearly 60,000 vehicles due to a malfunction in the rearview camera that could lead to distorted or blank images, increasing the risk of crashes. The recall affects certain 2024–2026 Honda Prologue and 2024 Acura ZDX models. The issue stems from improperly bonded camera housings, which allow moisture to corrode internal components, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Owners of the affected vehicles will receive notification letters starting July 6, 2026, and can have their rearview cameras replaced at Honda dealerships for free. The recall involves 33,464 Honda Prologue vehicles from 2024, 10,735 from 2025, and 15,688 Acura ZDX vehicles from 2024, totaling 59,887 vehicles. The defect is attributed to improper pre-treatment of the camera housing’s bonding surface during manufacturing.
Owners can verify if their vehicles are affected by using the VIN lookup tool on the NHTSA website or by contacting Honda customer service at 888-234-2138. The recall is identified by the NHTSA ID number 26V306000. Honda has assured that the issue was corrected in production as of June 9, 2025.
