With Thanksgiving in the rearview and Christmas fast approaching, Hollywood is ringing in the season tonight with the 93rd annual Hollywood Christmas Parade, supporting Marine Toys for Tots.
The Hollywood Christmas Parade steps off tonight, continuing a tradition that’s captivated Southern California since 1928. What began as the “Santa Claus Lane Parade” has grown into one of the entertainment industry’s most cherished celebrations, once graced by legends like Gene Autry, Jimmy Stewart, and Mary Pickford.
This year’s 3.2-mile parade begins at 6 p.m., traveling west along Hollywood Boulevard from Orange Drive to Vine Street, then looping down to Sunset Boulevard and back to Orange. The star-studded lineup includes grand marshal Luke Wilson, who says he’s honored to join the legacy of Hollywood greats, and Anthony Anderson, recognized as Humanitarian of the Year for his ongoing charitable work.
Hosted by Erik Estrada and Laura McKenzie, with Elizabeth Stanton and Montel Williams co-hosting, the parade will feature dazzling floats, marching bands, giant character balloons, movie cars, and performances from acts including Terry Fator, Mai Wynn, the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles, and more. A long list of film and TV favorites, from Thelma Houston and Tori Spelling to Brian Austin Green and Cesar Millan, are also scheduled to appear, along with Santa Claus himself.
Beyond the spectacle, the Hollywood Christmas Parade carries a powerful charitable mission. For decades, it has partnered with Marine Toys for Tots and other local organizations to collect toys and donations, ensuring underprivileged children experience the joy of the holiday season. Organizers say this combination of entertainment and philanthropy is what makes the parade truly special.
The parade has been held nearly every year since its debut, pausing only during World War II and the 2020 pandemic. This year’s event will be recorded and broadcast nationally on The CW on December 12.
