LOS ANGELES (CNS) – A burglary crew targeted a high-end sneaker shop in the South Los Angeles area Friday — the same shop that was burglarized about a month ago — and reportedly made off with more than $100,000 in merchandise.
Officers were sent to the 2100 block of W. Century Blvd. about 3:25 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Five suspects were being sought, who drove away in three vehicles — a Mercedes-Benz, a Chevrolet Corvette and a Chevrolet Camaro, police said.
The owners of Rich LA Clothing and Sneakers told Fox 11 that the suspects got away with an estimated $100,000 in merchandise from the store.
The same store was targeted on July 11 at about 3 a.m. by suspects who got away with about $20,000 worth of merchandise after crashing a vehicle through the front of the business, Fox11 reported.
Sources believe the same suspects who burglarized the store on Friday morning left an Encino store damaged earlier this week, since the same vehicles apparently were spotted leaving both scenes, Fox 11 reported.
Surveillance video from the scene of Friday morning’s crime shows suspects who cut through the metal gates, broke through the glass and display cabinets and ransacked the shop.
The owners told Fox 11 that some of the merchandise stolen Friday morning included boxes that had just arrived.
Investigators believe the same burglary crew is responsible for other incidents across Los Angeles, No arrests have been reported.
