Hawks Stolen in UTV Theft at SoFi Stadium

Two Harris’s hawks, Alice and Bubba, were stolen from outside SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on Sunday. The hawks were in containers in the bed of a maroon Kawasaki Mule UTV, which was taken during the Los Angeles Rams game. The Inglewood Police Department reported that the thief drove off with the UTV at 2:22 p.m. after finding the key left in the ignition.

The hawks were at the stadium to help falconer Charles Cogger deter other birds from flying around and causing disturbances during the game. Cogger, who still has his third hawk, Hope, expressed his distress over the situation. “I’ve really been struggling for the last 24 hours. A lot of tears,” Cogger told ABC7. He emphasized the urgency of finding the hawks, as they need to be returned by Thursday to prevent them from going four days without food or water.

Witnesses saw the suspect driving the UTV away from the stadium, last spotted in the nearby Century Village shopping area. The suspect is described as a Black man wearing a black shirt or jacket with a white stripe down the shoulder, black pants, and black shoes. The Inglewood Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact them at 310-412-5206, or to provide anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
