A tragic series of shootings in West Point, Mississippi, left six people dead on Friday night (January 8). The shootings, which spanned three different locations, were carried out by a single gunman, according to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Eddie Scott confirmed that the suspect has been taken into custody and no longer poses a threat to the community.
The shootings took place in the town of West Point, located near the Alabama border. Sheriff Scott expressed his condolences, stating, “Multiple innocent lives lost due to violence. We do have the individual in custody and no longer poses a threat to our community.”
According to The Dispatch, the suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Daricka Moore.
