Gunfire in L.A. Intersection Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Injured

Gunfire erupted in Exposition Park, Los Angeles, on Monday, leaving one man dead and another injured. Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at the intersection of Western Avenue and Exposition Boulevard shortly after 4:30 p.m. At the scene, they found two gunshot victims. The first victim, a man in his 30s or 40s, was not conscious but was breathing. The second victim was a young man, approximately 20 years old, whose condition was initially unknown. Both victims were transported to the hospital, where the older man was pronounced dead, according to KTLA.

The suspect, described only as a Hispanic male, fled the scene on foot. Police are actively searching for him. The intersection was closed for several hours for investigation, and Metro officials rerouted E Line buses to accommodate the police activity. NBC Los Angeles reported that investigators focused their efforts at the Expo/Western Metro stop.

The motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.
