LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Firefighters quickly knocked down a fire on the second floor of a two-story Craftsman-style home in the Pico-Union neighborhood Saturday.
Fire crews were called at 2:16 a.m. to the 1800 block of West 11th St. between South Westlake and South Burlington avenues where they were able to prevent the flames from burning a nearby building, said Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman Margaret Stewart.
It took 20 firefighters 17 minutes to knock down the fire.
Fire crews were conducting salvage operations on the first floor to protect belongings from water damage while the overhaul continues on the second floor, Stewart said.
