Fire Engulfs Baseball Park Seen in `A League of Their Own’

ONTARIO (CNS) – A baseball park in Ontario which has been a popular filming location for movies was engulfed in a fire overnight.

The fire was reported around 11:30 p.m. Thursday at Jay Littleton Ball Park in the 1000 block of North Grove Avenue.

A Fire Investigation Supervisor from the Ontario Fire Department told Key News Network that the fire was fully involved when the crews reached to the scene.

With five fire engines and two trucks, the first responders were able to knockdown the fire, he added.

The investigation for the cause was still ongoing at the time and no injuries were reported.

Located within the John Galvin Park, Jay Littleton is over 80 years old and has been a prominent location, be it hosting a Little League team or a film crew.

The field has appeared in popular movies like “Eight Men Out,” “The Babe Ruth Story” and “A League of Their Own,” according to the City of Ontario.
