LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Firefighters Sunday knocked down a blaze that burned an attic and facade at a one-story strip mall in the Mid-City community of Los Angeles, authorities said.
The 37 firefighters dispatched at 9:45 a.m. to 1788 S. La Cienega Blvd. had the fire out within 43 minutes of their arrival, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
“The fire appears to have originated in a pizzeria and extended into the attic,” Stewart said. “While crews quickly knocked (down) the flames within the business, the attic and facade fire took longer to isolate and access all remaining pockets of fire.”
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
