Fire Damages Apartment in Baldwin Hills Area

LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Fire damaged a unit on the second floor of a two-story apartment building in the Baldwin Hills area of Los Angeles today, authorities said.

Firefighters dispatched at 7:38 a.m. to 4633 W. August St. had the blaze out within 16 minutes of their arrival, said Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

“The quick interior attack made by firefighters prevented the fire from extending beyond the unit of origin,” Stewart said.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
