Father Arrested After Baby Dies in Car in Los Angeles

A father has been arrested on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter following the death of his 20-month-old daughter, who was found unresponsive in a car in the View Park-Windsor Hills area of Los Angeles. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported that deputies and firefighter-paramedics responded to a call about the child not breathing around 3 p.m. on Tuesday. Paramedics pronounced the girl dead at the scene.

The father, identified as 40-year-old Edwin Johnson, was arrested for involuntary manslaughter and child neglect. His bond was set at $25,000. According to ABC7, the incident occurred outside a home on the 3800 block of Chanson Drive. The investigation is ongoing, and the authorities have not yet released information on how long the child was left in the vehicle or the cause of death.
