A Massachusetts woman has been arrested for allegedly administering thousands of counterfeit Botox and filler injections while falsely claiming to be a nurse. Rebecca Fadanelli, 38, the owner of Skin Beaute Med Spa with locations in Randolph and South Easton, is accused of dispensing fake Botox, Sculptra, and Juvederm that she imported from China and Brazil. According to federal prosecutors, since March 2021, Fadanelli has completed approximately 1,631 Botox appointments and 1,085 filler appointments, totaling over $900,000 in client payments.
The case against Fadanelli originated from a federal customs investigation into international packages believed to contain unapproved prescription drugs. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration also received a separate complaint from a Skin Beaute client who experienced side effects after receiving lip filler injections from Fadanelli in September 2022.
Fadanelli is scheduled to appear before a federal judge on Nov. 14 in Worcester, where she’ll face allegations that she illegally imported these drugs, one count of dispensing a counterfeit drug, and one count of selling or dispensing a counterfeit device. If convicted, she faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000 for the charge of importing merchandise contrary to law, and up to 10 years in prison and another fine of $250,000 for charges of knowingly selling or dispensing a counterfeit drug or device.
