Ex-Running Mate Choice Rips Kamala Harris’ For ‘Blatant Lies’ In Memoir

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro accused former Vice President Kamala Harris of spreading “blatant lies” about him in her recent memoir chronicling her 2024 presidential campaign.

Shapiro, who was reported to be in consideration to be Harris’ running mate, addressed his portrayal of being arrogant, domineering and entranced by the perks of being the vice president during the vetting process in her memoir 107 Days released earlier this year.

“She wrote that in her book?” Shapiro asked during a sit-down interview published Wednesday (December 3) by the Atlantic’s Tim Alberta, who brought up the scathing passage. “That’s complete and utter bulls**t. I can tell you that her accounts are just blatant lies.”

Harris claimed that Shapiro was fixated on the vice presidential residence, which included measuring drapes, counting bedrooms and asking if the Smithsonian would lend Pennsylvania art for display while being vetted by Harris to be her potential running mate. The former vice president claimed that the Pennsylvania governor wanted to be “in the room for every decision” if she was elected president, would frequently hijack conversations and needed to be reminded several times that he wouldn’t have equal power in her possible administration.

Shapiro accused Harris of “trying to sell books and cover her ass” for her loss to President Donald Trump in the 2024 election when asked by Alberta if he felt “betrayed” before backtracking.

“I shouldn’t say ‘cover her ass.’ I think that’s not appropriate,” Shapiro said.
