Epstein Accusers Demand Release Of Files In Capitol Hill Press Conference

On Wednesday (September 3), a group of Jeffrey Epstein accusers gathered on Capitol Hill to share their harrowing experiences of abuse and to urge Congress to release more documents from the Justice Department’s investigation into Epstein and his co-conspirator, Ghislaine Maxwell. One of the accusers, Marina Lacerda, publicly identified herself as “Minor Victim 1” from the 2019 federal indictment of Epstein in New York. “I was one of dozens of girls that I personally know who were forced into Jeffrey’s mansion on 9 East 71st St. in New York City when we were just kids,” Lacerda said, marking her first public statement about the abuse.

The news conference, organized by the advocacy group Stand With Survivors, aimed to build support for legislation that would compel the Justice Department to release additional documents related to its years-long investigation into Epstein. Representatives Thomas Massie (R-Kentucky) and Ro Khanna (D-California) are leading the effort by collecting signatures for a discharge petition to force a vote on the measure.

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee recently released 33,295 pages of documents, though most of the information was already publicly available. President Donald Trump dismissed the calls for further document releases, labeling the issue a “Democrat hoax that never ends.”

As the push for transparency continues, the victims and their advocates hope to increase pressure on lawmakers to ensure that all files related to Epstein’s investigation are made public.
