Elon Musk will host a live conversation with former President Donald Trump on Monday (August 12) at 8 p.m. ET on X.
“This is unscripted with no limits on subject matter, so should be highly entertaining! If you have specific questions & comments, post them under the chat,” Musk wrote on X.
After making the announcement, Musk said he was going to test his company’s live service platform to ensure it runs smoothly. In May 2023, Musk hosted Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who announced he was going to run for president. Unfortunately, the live stream was marred with technical issues as the 400,000 viewers overloaded X’s servers.
This time, Musk appeared confident that the livestream would be error-free. Musk live-streamed himself playing video games for about an hour. The two streams had nearly combined eight million views.
The interview will be hosted by Trump’s official X account. While Musk reinstated Trump’s account after he purchased the social media company, he has only made one post since, opting to communicate with voters through his own social media site, Truth Social.
