A dramatic helicopter crash occurred on Sunday (June 22) near a waterfront restaurant in Clay Township, Michigan. A video shared on TikTok by user @valdibattista captured the red helicopter as it attempted to land before flipping and crashing near the Cabana Blue restaurant by Lake St. Clair.
The footage shows the helicopter hovering over land before it suddenly flipped and crashed, sending dust and debris into the air. Nearby bystanders, including weekend boaters, watched in horror, exclaiming, “Oh my God,” as the incident unfolded. The video ends with onlookers expressing concern for the passengers and discussing whether to check on them.
According to a report from Click On Detroit, no injuries have been confirmed at this time. The number of passengers on board and the cause of the crash remain unclear. Clay Township police have not yet responded to inquiries regarding the incident.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is expected to investigate the crash to determine the cause and any contributing factors.
