A couple from Los Angeles, Brittany Simon and Sharon Gilmore, claim that their two dogs, Cleo and Bentley, died shortly after consuming Freshpet dog food. According to Simon and Gilmore, the dogs were “perfectly healthy” before eating the food, but soon after, they became severely ill and died. Despite taking the dogs to a veterinarian, the exact causes of their deaths remain unclear.
The couple has taken to social media to warn other pet owners, stating that they found similar claims online from other dog owners who reported their pets becoming sick after eating the same brand of food. Brittany Simon expressed her devastation, saying, “They were completely healthy. They were fine until they ate this food.” Sharon Gilmore added, “I was under the impression that I was giving the dogs fresh, healthy food.”
In response to these allegations, Freshpet has denied any wrongdoing, labeling the claims as “misinformation.” The company stated that they are aware of the claims circulating online but have not acknowledged any fault.
