LOS ANGELES (CNS) – The Dodgers have accepted an invitation from President Donald Trump for the traditional World Series champions visit to White House April 7.
“The Dodgers look forward to visiting the White House and celebrating our title,” the team said on social media Tuesday.
The visit coincides with the opener of a three-game series against the Washington Nationals.
Dodger shortstop Mookie Betts told reporters Tuesday he was undecided if he would visit the White House with the team and needed to talk it over with his family first.
Betts did not visit the White House in 2019 with the Boston Red Sox following their World Series victory during President Trump’s first term. He did join the Dodgers on their 2021 White House visit when Joe Biden was president following their victory in the 2020 World Series.
Members of the Dodgers will visit Capitol Hill on April 8, the social media post said.
