Dodgers Pitcher Walker Buehler Robbed At Race Track

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Walker Buehler was reportedly robbed at the Santa Anita Park racecourse in Arcadia, California, at some point prior to his scheduled start in Game 3 of the National League Division Series against the San Diego Padres, according to ABC 7 Eyewitness News in Los Angeles.

Buehler, 30, and his wife, McKenzie Marcinek, were reportedly surrounded by a mob when someone allegedly unbottoned the pitcher’s shirt sleeve and stole his watch reported to be valued at around $100,000, according to TMZ Sports. The Lexington, Kentucky, native is a lifelong fan of horse racing and has an investment stake in the American Thoroughbred racehorse Authentic, the 2020 Kentucky Derby winner trained by Hall of Famer Bob Baffert.

ABC 7 said it contacted the Arcadia Police Department for more information and was referred to a detective that didn’t return its call, while a spokesperson for the Dodgers had no comment on the alleged incident. Additionally, the station previously reported that the incident occurred over the weekend, however, couldn’t confirm when it took place.

Buehler is set to start in Game 3 of the NLDS at Petco Park Tuesday (October 8) night with the best of five series tied at 1-1. The 30-year-old went 1-6 with a 5.38 ERA in 2024, having missed the entire 2023 season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in August 2022.
