Disneyland Resort is set to kick off its 70th anniversary celebrations today. The festivities will run through summer 2026, offering guests a mix of new entertainment and returning favorites. Visitors can look forward to the debut of “The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade,” a lively parade down Main Street, U.S.A., featuring beloved characters in special 70th-anniversary attire.
A highlight of the celebration is the return of the dazzling “Paint the Night” parade, which will light up Main Street with over a million LED lights. According to Disney Food Blog, this parade will showcase characters from Pixar films like “Monsters, Inc.” and Disney classics such as “The Little Mermaid.”
The celebration also introduces the “World of Color Happiness!” show at Paradise Bay, inspired by Walt Disney’s opening day dedication. Hosted by Joy and the Emotions from “Inside Out,” the show will feature music and scenes from various Pixar and Disney films. Guests can even vote for special scenes through the Disneyland app.
Another new addition is the “Tapestry of Happiness” projection show at “It’s a Small World,” which will bring Disneyland’s history to life with vibrant visuals and music. The anniversary theme song “Celebrate Happy,” performed by the Jonas Brothers, will be a central feature throughout the celebration.
In addition to entertainment, guests can enjoy themed food, beverages, and collectible merchandise. Special decorations, including a 50-foot sculpture inspired by Sleeping Beauty Castle, will adorn the park, adding to the festive atmosphere.
