Descanso Gardens kicked off its annual Enchanted Forest of Light this weekend, drawing crowds undeterred by steady rainfall. The immersive nighttime installation in La Cañada Flintridge features a mile-long pathway filled with glowing oak groves, illuminated lanterns, and the popular field of color-changing tulips that has become a social media favorite.
An entire town of “stained glass” houses by contemporary sculptor Tom Fruin lights up the main lawn, which also features plenty of places to gather with friends and family while you listen to the chill music piped through the forest. A fan favorite is the sparkling geometric installations and Flower Power, a field of tulips that looks like a technicolor fever dream
