A Delta Air Lines flight from Minneapolis to Toronto Pearson Airport overturned while landing on Monday (February 17), causing a major incident at the airport. The aircraft, a Bombardier CRJ-900LR operated by Endeavour Air for Delta Connection, came to rest upside down on the tarmac. Emergency teams, including airport fire and rescue, quickly responded to the scene.
According to a statement from Toronto Pearson Airport, all 80 passengers and crew members were evacuated from the plane and have been accounted for. Initial reports from the airport suggest that at least eight people may have been injured. The severity of their injuries is unknown.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has closed all runways at the airport as authorities, including Peel Regional Police, investigate the crash.
