‘Dangerous’ Heat and Fire Weather Conditions for SoCal This Week

Southern California residents are being warned by the National Weather Service (NWS) about the potential for “dangerous heat” this week. The high temperatures are expected to be most intense away from the coast, particularly affecting the mountains, deserts, and interior valleys. The NWS has also highlighted elevated fire weather concerns, with an increased risk of grass fires in these areas.

According to the NWS, the heatwave is set to intensify starting Monday and continue throughout the workweek. Temperatures are predicted to soar above 100 degrees in areas like Woodland Hills on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Monday and Friday will also see high temperatures of 94 and 96 degrees, respectively.

Despite the heatwave, KTLA 5 meteorologist Kacey Montoya assures residents that the extreme temperatures won’t last long. “Even though we have this little heatwave coming, we are going to cool down to pretty close to normal as we head into next weekend,” Montoya said, indicating that the hot temperatures are temporary.

Residents are advised to stay informed about the latest weather updates and take necessary precautions to stay safe during the heatwave. For more detailed weather forecasts, visit the Yahoo News report.
