Cruise Line Offering Four-Year Trip So People Can Skip Trump’s Second Term

Florida-based cruise company Villa Vie Residences has launched a unique program offering Americans a four-year escape from the United States during President-elect Donald Trump’s second term. The program, named Tour La Vie, allows passengers to spend up to four years visiting over 140 countries aboard the Villa Vie Odyssey.

The Tour La Vie trip offers several different options for travelers, including a one-year “Escape from Reality” trip, a two-year “Mid-Term Selection” option, a three-year “Everywhere but Home” cruise, and the four-year “Skip Forward” journey.

“We came up with this marketing campaign before we even knew who would win. Regardless of who would have won, you would have half of the population upset,” CEO Mikael Petterson told Newsweek.

Prices for the cruise start at just under $40,000 per year, with single-occupancy cabins for the entire four years starting at $256,000. Double occupancy will cost $320,000 for the trip. The price includes all food and drinks, WiFi, medical visits, weekly housekeeping, and bi-weekly laundry service. Alcohol is only included at dinner.

The four-year voyage will stop at 425 ports across 140 countries. The cruise will start by spending a month in the Caribbean before embarking on a four-month South American journey. During the four months, passengers will get to transit the Panama Canal twice, visit two World Wonders, sail through the Chilean Fjords, sail by Antarctica, attend Carnival in Rio, and spend eight days cruising down the Amazon River.

For American residents on board during the midterm election in 2026 and the presidential election in 2028, mail-in ballots will be sent to the cruise line’s corporate office and then to the ship, ensuring passengers can still cast their votes.
