Child Shot Near High School in Watts

WATTS (CNS) – A child was shot today near a Watts high school.

Officers responded to the area of 103rd Street and Compton Avenue, near Thomas Riley High School, after reports of the shooting at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to Officer Mike Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department.

The LAPD did not release further details on the shooting, but CBS2 and the Los Angeles Fire Department reported at least one juvenile victim was taken from the scene to a hospital in unknown condition.

Authorities established a perimeter and were canvassing the area for any sign of the suspect or suspects.
